Victor Leon

Victor was born in Cacha, Ecuador. Music is in Victor’s blood. He started playing the guitar at a very young age and plays other string instruments and the harmonica as well. He was greatly influenced by his father, Pedro Leon, a very well known harmonica player in Ecuador. Promoting the music of Ecuador developed into a mission for Victor and to this end he and the other original group members established the Duchicela Corporation. Victor currently serves as the corporation's director.

 

Pablo Cayambe

Pablo was born in Cacha, Ecuador. At the young age of 10, Pablo began to teach himself to play the wind and string instruments of his heritage. He is a childhood friend of Victor Leon, and is one of the original members of the Duchicela Corporation. Currently, Pablo is the principal charango player for the group and he also performs on guitar and winds, and lends his voice to some of the selections on the group's recordings.

Roberto Cevallos

Roberto comes from Quito, Ecuador. He started learning music from family and neighbors as a child. After years of performing in Equador, Roberto was invited to the Biarritz International Festival in southwestern France. He went on to travel and perform in many European countries before being invited to join the Duchicela Corporation in 1998. Currently he plays the wind instruments for Duchicela.

Paolo Jativa

Paolo comes from Quito, Ecuador. He began music studies very early in his life and he has traveled around the world playing music with many recognized groups in Europe and the U.S.A. Paolo performs on all kinds of flutes, string and percussion instruments, and is also an acknowledged instrument maker. He is the most recent member of the group.
